Aviation

Aviation fuel is a specialized type of fuel used in aircraft engines. It is primarily designed for jet engines and can effectively operate at high speeds and altitudes. Aviation fuels are typically based on kerosene and are formulated specifically to meet the requirements of jet engines.

The characteristics of aviation fuels include:

  • High energy content: They need to have high energy density to allow aircraft to fly long distances.
  • Low temperature fluidity: They are formulated to work effectively even at low temperatures encountered at high altitudes.
  • Low flammability risk: They must be safe to use at high altitudes and speeds.

Jet fuels are commonly known as Jet A and Jet A-1, and they are used by a wide range of commercial aircraft fleets. Other types include Jet B (slightly higher in certain components) and JP-8 (used for military applications). These fuels are subject to strict quality standards to ensure flight safety and efficiency.
